Our Services
Many people who are considering laser vision correction say that they are tired of the hassle of removing and caring for their contact lenses.
Two companies recently received FDA approval for contact lenses that can be worn for up to 30 days straight! These revolutionary lens materials allow 6 to 8 times more oxygen through the lens than conventional materials, and are safer and healthier for your eyes!
These are currently available in a wide range of prescriptions.
For people who prefer to wear contact lenses only occasionally, new single-use disposable lenses offer the ultimate in contact lens convenience-- wear the lenses once, and throw them away! At approximately $1.00 per pair, these are an affordable option for sports, business presentations, or important social occasions.
There are even single-use BIFOCAL lenses available!
If you are considering contacts, Dr. Bethany & Dr. Jonathan will work with you to find the best possible combination of comfort, clarity AND convenience for your particular needs.
Professional Eye Exams
Contact Lenses
Computerized corneal mapping is the newest innovation in eye measurement and analysis. While more traditional instruments measure only the central 3 mm of the cornea (front surface of the eye), our mapping system takes data from 11,000 points on the cornea to create a topographical map of the eye surface. This allows for earlier detection of eye diseases such as keratoconus, and provides invaluable information for more precise fitting of contact lenses. It also is a necessary part of the pre- and post-operative procedure for patients considering laser vision correction.
The TelScreen digital imaging system allows the doctors to take photographs during the eye examination, and show them to you on a monitor in the exam room. These photographs are used to document changes in eye conditions, to educate you about your eyes, and can be electronically transferred to your other doctors when referral is necessary. Somerset Eye Care is the first office in New Jersey to use this amazing system!
